Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
A1 : PanTEST COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test is a detection method to identify the existence of the virus itself by detecting specific proteins (i.e. antigens) on the surface of the virus in the sample.
A2 : The antigen is present on the virus. If SARS-CoV-2 antigen is detected in the body, it means that there is SARS-CoV-2 virus in the body, so the antigen can be used as an indicator for detecting the virus in the body. Antigens can usually be detected in the upper respiratory tract early in the infection.
A3 : All people are suitable for rapid testing, especially those who are suspected of being infected, such as those who have returned to Hong Kong within 14 days, those who have been in direct or indirect contact with people diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia, those with acute upper respiratory symptoms, fever or pneumonia.
A4 : It is recommended that the best sampling time is after waking up, brushing teeth, gargle, eating, because the concentration of saliva is the highest, there is enough sample size to ensure the accuracy of the test.
A5 : The rapid antigen test can only indicate whether the test sample contains antigen. If the virus content in the body is very low and there are no obvious clinical symptoms, the test may give a negative result. It is recommended to test at least once a week to ensure that there is no infection.
A6 : It is recommended to use a brand-new test kit for multiple verifications. If the positive result continues, please contact the Department of Health immediately to arrange a follow-up test for further diagnosis.
A7 : Because the rapid antigen test has not been approved by the Hong Kong government as a clinical diagnostic standard, it is temporarily unable to use the test results for customs clearance. This test is suitable for continuous self-monitoring to protect the health of yourself and your family.
A8 : Please record the test results and the date of the test first, then wrap and seal the used materials, and then put them in the trash bin together with ordinary household waste. Remember to wash your hands after disposal.
A9 : It is recommended to use the sample extraction solution provided in the kit as soon as possible after sampling. If it cannot be processed immediately, the sample should be stored in a dry, sterilized and sealed plastic tube to avoid affecting the test results.
